Count on North Oaks When You’re Faced with the Unexpected.

A sudden illness or injury can be a frightening experience, but you’re in good hands at the North Oaks 急诊科 — open 24 hours 一天,一周7天.

  • 病人 are treated in order of the severity of their medical condition(s). (This is referred to as triaging patients.)

  • Your wait time is influenced by many factors, such as severity of medical condition, number of patients, room availability, and if there is a need for specialized rooms or equipment. Critically ill or injured patients are always treated before patients with less severe medical problems.

  • Bring a current, up to date list of all medications you take including dosage (what strength) and frequency (how often/when taken) and what the medication is taken for. If unable to make a current list, bring your medications with you. Medications must be in their original container and properly labeled (patient name, name of medication, dosage, 和正确的频率).

  • If you are asked to wait, please return to the triage area and ask to speak to a nurse if your condition changes or you have a question.

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, go to the closest emergency 房间或拨打9-1-1. To access emergency services, take North Oaks 开车 to Jay Smith, MD, 开车. The Emergency Room entrance will be on the left.

When you arrive in the hospital’s 急诊科, the first person you will encounter is a patient representative who will notify the medical team of your arrival. The patient representative can call for assistance for individuals needing a wheelchair or help getting out 汽车的.

Next, you will be seen by the triage nurse, who will determine the severity of your condition and the urgency of treatment. 这确保所有 patients receive the most appropriate medical treatment in a timely manner.

Once your condition is assessed, you will either be escorted directly to an exam room or asked to wait in the lobby. If you are asked to wait, please return to the triage area, and ask to speak to a nurse if your condition changes or you have a question.

Before you leave the ED, you will receive information regarding:

  • Instructions on self-care for your illness or injury

  • Name of the emergency physician who treated you

  • Name of the physician and clinic you are referred to for follow-up care 这是必须的
